Benefits of a Tribal 8(a)
Pamunkey Indian Enterprises – Professional Services (PIE-PS) has Small Business Administration (SBA) Tribal 8(a) certification and is wholly owned by the Pamunkey Indian Tribe. This SBA designation expedites contracting processes and improves financial and operational efficiencies.
There are significant advantages to working with a certified Tribal 8(a) organization, including allowing contracting agencies to move quickly through the award process. Sole source contracts help reduce or eliminate the time delays and financial costs of market research, acquisition strategies, solicitation, proposal review, and contractor selection:
Up to $25 million may be awarded without justification for sole source federal civilian direct award contracts
Up to $100 million may be awarded without justification for Department of Defense direct award contracts
Awards cannot be protested
Follow-on to competitive 8(a) procurements can be sole source awards
Awards are eligible to retire agency’s annual Small Disadvantaged Business spend goals
Up to a 5% rebate on the total amount subcontracted to Indian Economic Enterprises (IEE) may be provided to prime contractors
